Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader who has a successful track record in Manufacturing Excellence, Lean Management with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your Tasks

  • Support of our portfolio companies with the focus on operational improvements in direct and indirect technical areas
  • Analysis of the status quo plus definition and quantification of EBITDA improvement levers
  • Development of Manufacturing Excellence road maps and realization of substantial EBITDA improvements
  • Multiplication of manufacturing excellence knowledge both projects related or via our MUX Academy program
  • Lead task force programs for rapid improvements of critical business situations
  • Taking on various interim mandates for individual projects

Your Profile

  • At least 7 years of international experience in Manufacturing Excellence role in industry or in consulting, 2 years’ experience in consulting is mandatory
  • Completed university degree, preferably mechanical/industrial engineering or equal education/study with advanced business knowledge
  • A high level of education and experience in the field of manufacturing (Lean Management, Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, WCM, etc.)
  • Understanding of financial analysis and management accounting, incl. P&L analysis, in order to identify and prioritize necessary measures for improvement
  • Willingness to travel 4 days per week within EUROPE (typ. Mo-Thu)
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, another European language is a plus
