Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within our Finance team, we are looking to hire a leader for our French office, who has a successful track record in Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, on site across Europe.

Your Tasks

  • Manage the restructuring and improvement processes for our portfolio companies on-site to implement and improve sound cash management processes on-site
  • Collaborate closely with the local CFO/CRO and TMO lead on the preparation of turnaround concepts by performing strong financial analyses, preparing integrated financial models and challenging and assessing business cases
  • Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
  • Improve financial statement closing and other finance/controlling processes and assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit
  • Manage the relationship with external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurers, etc.)

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed a Finance degree from a reputable university or business school
  • At least 5 years of international experience in Big4 / Management Consulting firm (preferably restructuring focused) or Controlling/Finance department of an industry firm (preferably with exposure to restructuring situation)
  • Exceptional entrepreneurship to find and implement creative solutions, energy and drive to solve complex problems as well as resilience during distressed situations
  • Business fluency in French and English with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel (Integrated financial modelling and cash forecasts) and willingness to travel 4 days per week across Europe (typ. Mo-Thu)
